Default Water? Dust? Broken wires? Bad Connection? Help please!

So I decided to dust off the scx-10. I charged my battery. Put batterys in the controller and nothin. So I took the esc apart and blew it off. Still nothin. So I jiggled some wires and still nothin. Nothin smells burnt. So I let it sit. Well i plug in the battery and turn on the controller and the green light came on and I had power. Well I unpluged the battery and tried to see if it'd work again and it didn't. So I took part the reciver and the esc and now im lettin em dry off. What would be the problem? and i had everything water "proofed" and my esc is a duratrac intellispeed and my reciver is a traxxis

Do any of the lights on the ESC turn on? I've seen the power switch go bad and not actually allow it to turn on. That would be the first thing to check, that you're getting power and it's sending power to the RX.

If the rig has been sitting for a while, I doubt "letting it dry off" will help.

I agree to check the on/off switch 1st. That is about the 1st thing I remove when I get a new ESC. Just cut the wires off (with no battery plugged in) ~1" from the ESC. Strip the wires, twist together & solder. Either shrink wrap them or wrap in tape when done.

Even if the switch is "off", the ESC can still draw power, killing ANY battery pack if it's left plugged in.

So, as long as you know the battery is charged (do you have another vehicle to test the battery in?) and the switch is eliminated, then it would have to be the ESC if it doesn't turn on. Also, try unplugging any other item from the receiver because I've seen failed servos prevent the thing from starting up.

If you left it plugged in, chances are the battery is goosed. Try with another one if possible.

Unless you are a deft hand with a soldering iron and can fix it, I think a new servo is in order.
