| Motor stalling
My Wraith motor has started acting funny. If I'm trying to climb or get over an obstacle and try and use finesse and go really slow, when I roll on the throttle to just creep along the motor will make a weird noise and I believe it's stalling.. Then with just a little more throttle it comes out of it and starts going.. Other than that, torque and speed are still normal the rest of the time. Running a Holmes Expert 35T machine wound motor with BRXL esc and 3s lipo. Geared 87/16 48p. Only variable is it started doing it not long after installing new 2.2 Baja Claws.. Previous tires were R35 Ripsaws. Possible large sticky tires too much for the motor? I haven't taken it out to inspect yet, but judging from the brush springs the brushes don't appear to be worn down too much though I guess it's a possibility.. The motor has been in the Wraith about a year I figure. It's never seen water or mud and I've never really heated it up.. I do mostly trail running with some crawling mixed in and I'm not a full throttle and pray type of driver at all. Most obvious options get motor rebuilt or gear it down? I'd hate to drop to a 14t pinion but I'm thinking about it... |

If the brush springs are close to the bottom of the spring slot, you need brushes. You may also be due for a comm cut. |
