Default CastleLink USB with AE-2

Anyone else used the CastleLink USB to programme their AE-2?

I've just tried and only have access to the "basic" settings. I was expecting I would be able to modify the throttle curve.

Disappointed is an understatement. My SCX10 (the factory radio to be exact) desperately needs throttle dual rate - way before it needs the steering dual rate it comes with - IMO. Does anyone agree?

So I'm having to justify buying a Spektrum radio...has to be Spektrum from heli experience. DX3C I think - seems the best value on a $0 radio budget.

I might consider a proper Castle ESC in future upgrades much later on - just so I can use my $20 USB cable and free software again.

I don't use expo or dr with my ae-2. I run it 3s with a titan 21t, and never had an issue with throttle control. Why do you feel you need it?

That was a big reason I switched mine out for a BR-XL. I have the AE-2 in my rally car and it's not a big deal, but on a crawler I didn't like not being able to adjust that curve.

I had my first run with the DX3C today - last night I reset the AE-2 back to factory defaults then installed the SR300 receiver. The steering servo centred with about 40% steering lock so had to reset the horn.

Huge difference - maybe my Axial radio had a dodgie throttle. Without changing the Spektrum expo or travel the throttle issues I had previously were gone.

The DX3C is great value - 20 model memories! I've already setup 3 variations.
