Default tekin rebel 2

i was wondering if the bec on the tekin rebel 2 would handel a dx3 spektrum radio with 2 JR Z650m servos and 2 Team Integy 55t lathe motors without a problen or without a reciever pack...

my evx makes the reciever turn off, and my steering acts up...even with a reciever pack...

i want to make it as hasle free as possible...please, any info on this would be great...

and for anyone's 411, i did use the search button, and it didnt fully answer my questions....

Did you disable the BEC from the EVX while you had a receiver pack running?

then why did you mention it in your first post?
If you want to troubleshoot is one thing... If not there is no way i can say that the Rebel will fix your problem.

It runs two 65 lathes, a sysnthesized receiver and 2 high powered servrs in my clod with no issues at all.
that doesn't mean you don;t have another poblem that is causing your glitching in your current set up.

hhhmmm...i know for a fact that its the evx...cause my reciever works with the pack, and the servos work. but once i remove the reciever pack and connect the evx, and the 7.2v battery, the prob. starts...
the servos kinda glitch, and the reciever turns off...the motors work decently, but the servos act up...

so will the tekin handle the job, or should i go with the super duty...

the tekin rebel 2 is awesome and is much better then a rooster. tr2 has 5amps at the bec rooster only has 3 amps.

i use a tr2 and have no problems.

This is completely different than your first post.

Barring any wierd problems the Rebel should be more than sufficient to run your set up... unless it too is completely different than you stated in your first post.

no its exactly the same...when i run my setup with the evx plugged into my reciever, my reciever goes wack, and turns off...finds a signal, then runs all weird, then turns off...even does it with the reciever pack installed....

but when i unistall the evx, and just run a reciever pack with the servos, the radio set-up works fine...

so i came to the conclusion that its my evx..

so now i post here to see whether or not i should get the tekin or the superduty...and i need to know because im ordering in a few days....

So then i go back to my first question.
Did you disable the BEC from the EVX when trying a receiver pack?

Well... that means there is nothing wrong with your EVX other than the BEC it too weak for your servos. You can either:
  • Run a receiver pack
  • Tap off your 5th cell for BEC power
  • Run a voltage regulator for BEC power
  • Buy a ESC with a higher BEC voltage/amperage
Top three require disabling the BEC from your ESC.
Bottom one is your call. Rebel 2 is very popular for it's BEC if you are deadset on buying a new ESC.

kinda looking into a new esc, want to cut down on the weight...

now as i heard someone say, the rebel 2 isn't rated for 2 motors...have people had any effects due to this, and does it handle it...???

how do i wire it...parallel or in series???

parallel im assuming...

now is the bec stronger than the super duty esc???

Tons of people use it over the rooster...
Now some people prefer the super rooster but it is discontinued.
the plain roosters BEC sucks.

As far as the super duty goes... $80 (rebel 2) is cheaper than $130 (super duty).
Not a lot of crawlers using the super duty.

Just follow the setup instruction ignoring the "set it to 70/30 split" part and it will work fine.

The two 55 turn motors are no sweat for the Rebel. Mine doesn't even get luke warm.
