| Servo plugs without tools
Hi everyone, I need to shorten my Servo wire and I would like to install a new plug. I have looked on youtube for how to and they all use a crimping plier. Do you have a way to make them without one (soldering etc...) or an idea to replace this plier? I know it is not this expensive but I would only use it once a year (And the electronic shop is quite far from home Thanks! |

When I shortened the wiring on my comp crawler I put the new plugs on with some plain needle nosed pliers because my lhs was out of the crimpers Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk 2 |

get a ziptie, loop all the slack in the wires together, then ziptie it.

You could do it with a set of small needlenose pliers....but dont expect the connection to be perfect or last a long time if you are installing and removing it often.

If you crimp it with needle nose pliers and then solder it....it would hold up pretty well. If you have a soldering iron of course.

How about this... assuming you can get your hands on a soldering iron and some basic hand tools. No crimping needed! Remove the screws from the bottom of the servo and expose the circuit board. Put a little heat from your soldering iron on the three wires where the servo cable gets soldered to the circuit board. Do it one at a time and remove the wires. Cut off the amount that you need to shorten it and solder them back onto the circuit board. |

Thanks guys! This is for an XR10 and a very narrow chassis (switch), I placed everything with zipties but this looks like a mess, I want a clean electric setup (without decasing) I'll try and find the proper gear this morning, if not I'll heyok technic (facepalm for not thinking about that before Have a great day. |
