Default Motor theory discussion..brushed vs brushless ultimate power

Just curious if a brushed motor can be build to produce more power when compared to brushless of the same size..

I'm talking drag racing type motor here..forget low speed resolution!

Maybe something like team brood axle buster but with a bigger comm or something.

Maintenance would not be an issue just pure horsepower..

I don't know something like some super strong thin neo magnets+oversize 3 pole arm wound with oversize wire and 12 or 15mm comm...

Gears have been turning in my head all week long!!!

Possible sure, but the cost would be nuts......and it would be power hungry.

Why do you think you need a bigger comm?

A bigger comm can pass more current if it is the bottleneck. Going to bigger brushes would be the next step.

Brushed can't match brushless for power to weight or power to size ratio. Between the brush drag and comm/ brush resistance you lose a lot of power at high amperages. Go brushless unless you just want to use a brushed motor.
