Default Problem

Got my wraith all finished up and took it out and the motor got really hot and would smoke. Then it would surge like a big blown drag car. I've tried two different esc's and motors. Running a 2cell, savox 500oz servo with spektrum electronics and a glitch buster.

What could it be and how do I fix this?
Thanks!

If I get rid of the glitch buster then the servo acts really spastic. Would it change anything if I got rid of the glitch buster and got a BEC?

What ESC's are you trying out?
Did you calibrate the ESC's to the RX each time you swapped them?
If the ESC's can do brushless & brushed, are they set to the correct motor type??
500inoz servo WITHOUT a BEC, just asking for trouble. Glitch busters are to help a bit.....way outside of what you're seeing. Most of us run a CC 10A BEC.

One esc is the axial AE2, and the other is from a HPI sprint 2 drift car rtr.

I don't think the glitch buster or a because would cause the motor to get hot and smoke. That's likely dorm drivetrain binding like your pinion mesh etc. Take the motor out and spin the tires, there should be hardly any resistance or u can push it on the floor. A bec is needed for that power hungry servo though.
