My opinion is that you should ask questions BEFORE you buy something.

Agreed with duuuude. But yes a Hitec servo should keep for 2 weeks. But to be safe, refrigerate after opening.

Howdy
For what it's worth - had one of those brand new yesterday - literally 5 minutes into a pack it stripped out. Doing nothing other than running around on the grass no less. So my opinion is pretty low on that servo – never had a problem of any servo stripping in grass before.
So IMO - not worth the money - but I have a bad taste in my mouth because of that - so weigh that while reading my negative view of it.

I've got a 645 and a 5645 that I've had for years. Blew the gears out of the 645 after a bad tumble in my scaler, been fine since.

They work fine if you don't put them in something they weren't designed to handle.

Ps sorry for my completely unhelpful post. That was my way of pointing out that you have not given us sufficient information. I had that servo in a drifter for a couple years. No problem.

If you're putting it in an MRC you might be fine.

If you're putting it in a wraith that you drive as if it were an emaxx, you're S. O. L.

Figure out what you want to spend, then search the web. When you find something you think you like, come back here and search this section to see what people have said about it.

There is a good priced savox servo on the first page of the for sale section right now. $47.

I believe scx10's should have at least 250oz servos. I use 330oz usually.

Check the cs170. Or wait for a used Hitec 7955tg to show up for sale for around $60.

From this page.... TowerHobbies.com | Hitec HS-5645MG Digital Ultra Torque Metal Gear 2BB it's an "OK" crawler servo.
I would have suggested at least a HiTec 7955 which is at about the "you need an external BEC" threshold.

Carpet/dirt duty is one thing, crawling is yet another thing.

I've had issues with the HiTec 7954, the 7955 is my minimum (for a 1.9) then jump to a 7950 as a minimum for a 2.2 comp crawler.

Once you get to the ~200inoz+ range, it's worth getting an external BEC.

I have the BRXL, isnt it good fora large servo? I mainly do basic crawling, nothing high speed at all .

My rig is not going to be for comps, but it is a 1.9 Scale

The BR-XL has likely the BEST internal BEC anywhere.....so you can go a bit higher than ~200inoz on a servo and get away from having to get an external BEC.

The range you're looking at, you should be fine.

Comping or not, you will likely want more "steering" at some point, thus the push for higher torque servos in the crawler world.

You can get a Solar Servo D772 on HobbyPartz.com for $18 - 368oz/in torque @ 6v (what your BR-XL will put out) or a massive 417oz/in @ 7.4v (will need an external BEC). A bunch of the guys in my group (all SCX10s or Wraiths) run them and I put one in my new Wraith. Aside from being a little on the noisy side, they are awesome. Not the fastest out there, but for crawling and what we do, you won't notice.

Decently water resistant out of the box but with a few coats of liquid tape, can be submerged without issue.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion Fink , I'm not worried about speed or noise... just reliability .

Moto, I have run my Rig for almost 6 hours in 2 days and voltage is still at 7.33 on the battery
