Default integy motor failure

hey guys, i bought a 55t integy motor for my scx10 a couple months back. i had a buddy of mine put on a deans plug for me and he also ran it at a low speed to break it in. took it out for the first time today and the truck felt slow from the get go. thought it might have been the batteries as i was running batteries i charged over a month ago abd figured they were running low. put in a fully charged lipo and same thing. she was low on power with this battery too. also the motor was smelling pretty bad. i thought maybe it was due to being a new motor it was just burning off some crap or something. it eventually started making a weird noise so i swapped in another motor i had and it woke the truck right up. my buddy checked the brushes and said just visually they look fine, so maybe its the winding or something. i dont know anything about these motors so im not even sure where to start with this. i was hoping that this motor would have performed a little better given what it was worth vs the axial 55t that has been through three trucks including mine and has had a couple years of abuse and still works great.

Shorted stator will do that. I have a venom 55t with the same issue i think. Tried measuring resistance but its still higher resistance them my 35t motor... But i am measuring wire to wire, and not the commutator itself.

I had the same motors in my xr10.

1 was fine... And actually quite impressive.... The other popped a wind 2 hours in. Now in for warranty.

If you have a good relationship with the shop and/or the shop is computerized, you can have a duplicate receipt printed to send in with your warranted item.

EDIT: Actually, I'm sure if you sent it in with just a note, they would look at the motor and send you a new one.
