Default ESC and receiver in the same box

I put my Tekin FXR and axial receiver in the same box on my Honcho just to get some water resistance. Anybody running a setup like this ? I am worried about heat in the summer but if I waterproof it I know that insulates it too. A friend suggested cutting vent holes in the box but then it won't be water resistant any more.

I have a BR-XL and Losi receiver in a Radio Shack project box with a removable lid in my CR-01. I just use silicone to seal the lid when I know I'm going to be in the water and haven't had any heat issues with a 3s and 27T HH. I just unscrew the lid in the summer and everything stays cool when I'm not in the water.
