Default Mamba Max - Possible to remove case to lighten?

I've searched all over here and the googles and can't find any info on this. I have 2 bergs, both running Mamba Max ESC's. I've had bad luck with Tekin FXR's (Have 2 burnt up ones sitting on the work bench right now). I like the programming available with the Castle stuff so i'm sticking with those.

Before I pull the trigger on ordering some Sidewinder Micros, I was curious if anyone had successfully decased and shrunk wrap a Mamba max. I was looking at it last night and doesn't look too different from some of the others i've seen decased.

So anyone done it? Is it even worth the effort when the micros are so available?

I have removed the case and the heat sink to make them smaller on my super class rig, worked well until a FET or whatever came off and it smoked.

I think the fan isn't necessary (for a crawler), but I wouldn't remove the heatsink.
