Default Question about my charger

I have a Triton Jr. plug it into a car battery, anyways, when charging batteries it will only charge for about 5 mins then beep as if it were fully charged? Confused by that I just run my crawler then the battery only last about a minute or two. I just bought 3 brand new batteries so it can't be them unless they're all really old. I bought them from the tcs crawlers battery sale.. Any ideas or help?

+1.

What battery chemistry (NiCD, NiMH, LiPO)?
What voltage (6 cell NiMH, 3S LiPO....total voltage on the pack label)?
What battery capacity (listed as "mah", like 7.6v 3500mah)?

How are you charging the battery....when do you consider it "done"?

What ESC?
Does the ESC have a LVC (Low Voltage Cutoff), if so, what is it set to??

TCS Crawlers 7 cell Split Battery Pack for AX10 Scorpion - 8.4 volt - Tamiya Connector - The Crawlers Store LLC

These batteries, charging them off my car battery. Just got the car battery like a month ago, so it's new.

I usually run 1100mah and they run a lot longer than these.. But it might be my charger cause it's having problems with all my batteries?

OK, you posted while I did.

Chemistry = NiMH
Capacity = 1500mah

You should set the charger to:
NiMH
1500mah
I don't believe you have to set the voltage....I may be incorrect.

My bet those are old cells, try discharging them and charging at a low rate.

If not contact TCS, they should take care of you.

The charger beeps when it is supposed to be done, I'm running a Rooster esc, been running it for like 4 years. And the battery will run fine for about 5 minutes then the car will slow down until it wont move.

Yeah the charger is all automatic. I set it to 1.5a nimh, if it's set up wrong the charger will tell me.

Yeah I discharged them, and re-charged them earlier. No luck I think the reason is why they were so cheap is cause they were old and trying to get rid of them.

As 666 stated, maybe you have a dud cell....(not likely on multiple packs).

I will say, the Tamiya connectors are suspect. The pack connectors may be fine, but the ESC connectors may be on their way out. If they are, they will get WARM in use.

Best bet, in the long run, change the rig & packs to at least Deans connectors. There are many choices, Deans are a common & decent choice.
Short term, if the connectors get warm, is to squeeze the ESC connectors a bit for a tighter fit to the battery pack.

*Update* It is the batteries! I tried charging all three with no luck. I threw on my old battery and it's been charging fine for the past 30 minutes which is around how long that pack would take.
