| DIY Servo Rebuilds. Anyone Try This
I have a savox servo and am thinking it is finally dying. It has been a great servo though and I want to keep it in the family. Savox said the rebuild shipping cost is prohibitive, which brings me to my question. Has anyone ever rebuilt a servo themselves? Are motor parts available? Thanks in advance. |

I am sure that those parts are available. Most manufacturers readily offer gears and cases. I've never replaced a motor before, but I bet if you can solder small stuff, it isnt too bad. I've replaced plenty of gears and cases on my servos...

The motors on every savox I've had open are surface mounted to the board. Not difficult to remove, but the lead free solder can be a pain...
