ae-2 esc help

Just got a used rig for a pretty good deal but im not familiar with the ae2 esc.

The first few batteries i went through everything was good, it would go instantly from forward to reverse and i was making some great saves on the hills and i loved it... but all of a sudden after i changed the battery today it started to have a delay between forward and reverse.

From what i can tell, it is actually normal to have the delay but i miss it going straight into reverse.

Any ideas why it didnt have brake but now it does?

I have one of those in my sons wraith that was a take off from another one of my trucks and it has no delay at all! Have you tried to recalibrate the esc?

The ae2 is castle link compatible. Hook it up to castlink and tune it there. I believe there is a setting for throttle delays.

What Rig? AE2 is a pretty good ESC, that 20 amp looks like a a complete POS, IMHO. 2s max, only 20 amps, 380 motor size max (and a weak one at that if only pulling 20amps), no drag brake, etc... Better be a small ass rig with a weak motor and no intentions of crawling. As stated plug AE2 into castle link and check, also pretty sure forward to reverse delay is programmable

If i put a castle link on it will i be able to go straight into reverse from forward? The brake is what is aggravating me... the drag brake is fine.

Im just wanting to go from forward to reverse with no delay, just like you go from reverse to forward already.

From the quick search I did, it is indeed possible to turn off the reverse lockout, double tap, or forward/brake/reverse. How ever you want to put it. Dont have one, never used castle link, but can tell ya its possible.
I wish I could use PC to change settings on my novak :(

Why no searching?

Get a castle link hook it up to a computer change forward and reverse setting to instant its simple i have the same esc and absolutly love it and with castle link you can adjust things nicely

Re: ae-2 esc help

its very simple to do. just set reverse type to crawler reverse. i used to run a castle SV2, which is basically a AE-2 with a 3rd motor wire, in my crawler with instant reverse.

Re: ae-2 esc help

just got a used wraith, noticed the esc green light blinks on full throttle forward, and red light blinks on full reverse, should it be really blinking or steady in full forward/reverse?
