| Rs 10 XT troubles.. help!
Hi. I have had my rs10 for a while now and no problems, until now... when i plug up the battery and the motors are connected, it goes on its own at full speed, even if the controller and the rig is turned off. Also, the servos just steer on there on, and there is no way to control it or stop it. the esc blinks red constantly... can someone please help me diagnose a problem and tell me a solution.. do i need a new esc or receiver? thanks!!

I dont know MOA stuff, nor your budget. there are lots to choose from. If you can get yourself a star you can get into the classifieds, everyone has great deals in there. Im sure someone will chime in on some suggestions. |

First off, you should never power up a RC rig/plane/etc. with the TX off. You never know what will happen. Second, how are the batteries in the TX? If they're weak, the rig can do goofy stuff. Which radio is in it? The LanSu 3TD? There is a recent thread here with links to a ton of info. I believe this is your manual... Rockslide RS10 Manual It really does not cover yout issue in the troubleshooting. |

The batteries are new in the TX. And, yes this is the lansu 3td. and yes I have the manual still, I have read it all and it says nothing about my problem... I have read many forums and have never seen or heard of this issue that anyone has has.. I honestly no idea what the problem is.. I would just like to get back to crawling!

Are both motors going? Try unplugging everthing from the reciever and turn it on, see what hapans nothing should and then plug it all back together.

Yes, if i have the motors plugged in, both of them will go without any throttle or anything. I have tried disconnecting everything from the receiver and then plugged up the motor and they still ran on their own. I have tried everything that I know to do, or have been told to do.... I just don't understand what is going on... |

I found out that when the receiver is unplugged, the esc only blinks every now and then (as it did normally, or when i first got it).. but when I plug the esc back up to the receiver, the esc starts blinking red constantly.. anyone have any idea what's going on?

Something is fried. I'd say ESC shorting out, sending power straight through if its hooked up. Least that's what i understood from first post. Sent from a glass keyboard. |

Hi, I do not know how to power up the receiver without the esc., do you know of a link or anything that would show me how to, without messing anything up. And if I'm understanding right, the steering should work, as normally, when the servos are wired up to the receiver, without the esc? If that is the case, wouldn't I need a new esc? Also, what if the steering still does the same thing? Would that mean a new receiver? Thanks so much for everyone's help so far!

You'd need a battery to plug into receiver into there very bottom slot of your RX. Yes, your correct. That method would clearly diagnose whether it's the rx or ESC. I'd still vote ESC, but if you don't have another ESC or receiver to play with, I'd attempt at powering RX up to make sure. Or steal some crap from a friend for a couple minutes to test. Possible you could take to rc shop and test if no friends with trucks or spare parts. Merry Christmas. Sent from a glass keyboard. |

The gt3b is a great radio and you can get them for $30 to $40. But unless you mod it you will not be able to use rear steer

If your issue is the RX, then either get a replacement RX, or do a completely different radio. If you do a different radio, may I suggest a hacked GT3B or GT3C?? | |
