Default Axial esc problems

I'm having trouble with the stock esc in my scx10. It is only sending short bursts to motor even if I hold it full throttle. I tried to reprogram it but it still does it. Any help would be appreciated

How old is the motor? Maybe it needs a service?
What battery (chemistry, cell count, mah, "C" rating if LiPO)?

Did this work fine before but now has an issue?

It was still the stock one, had it about a year and a half. I have been running 7.2 volt 6cell 4500 mah battery packs through it. It was working fine when I last ran it bout two weeks ago.

I put in a traxxas water proof esc last night and it solved the problem. But I was hoping to be able to run the stock esc cause I know it's lipo compatible.

guess it's a little late, but what battery connector are you running. If still the original tamiya style, I've had the same issue. Just makes a poor connection for some reason. Worth a look, maybe you can still use it after all.

If thats a Xl5 Traxxas Esc than it is Lipo safe as well. Just run you a bec and you can run 3s all day.

Is the Axial esc set for Auto-LiPo (default setting)?

A fully charged NiMh battery can charge to 9+ volts so Auto-LiPo may see the NiMh battery as a 3 Cell LiPo, when you pull the throttle the NiMh battery will drop below 9 volts quickly so the ESC may be hitting LVC.

Turn Auto-LiPo off and try again or move up to LiPo's, you will never look back! The only thing you will wonder is why you stuck with NiMh batteries for so long.
