CC mamba max pro and a 21.5 or a 17.5
 
i need a esc for a scx 10.. he wants a 100 bucks each.. good price i thought.. for crawling and trail running what would be a better choice.. 21 or the 17?? thanks..

I would go with the 17.5. It will give you a better wheel speed and torque. You can also throw in a 4s lipo for crazy speed if needed. 21.5 is too slow IMO.

im running a castle creations mamba max pro in my scx10 for over a year with a novak 13.5 turn crawler motor thats 2 yrs. or so old. i would rather have a little more wheel speed. 21.5 way too little wheel speed for me imo.

Same combo I have in my scx10! Perfect balance between wheel speed and torque in my opinion. I ran the 21.5 ballistic and was not really impressed at all. If you run the novak motor make sure it is the crawler version otherwise it will not perform well at all in rocks.

im going for the 18.5.. not 17.5 had it wrong.. yes it a crawler motor.. 100 bucks done think i can go wrong.. cant wait to try it thanks
