Default Question about 4th channel for lights.

I have an Axial Simple LED system for the Axial Wraith that I am working on and also have a 2 speed transmission that I have for it, so I will have 4 plugs to power and only 3 plugs in a standard 3 channel receiver. So my question is since the LED system is basically on/ off, could I buy a 4 Channel receiver and use the 3 controlled channels for the esc/ steering/ and 2spd and plug the lights into the 4th to just have power for the lights.

Basically, is the 4th uncontrolled channel still powered even if there is no signal to control it.

Or is there a piggyback connector that I can use to power the LEDs off of one of the other legs.

Thanks,

Matthew

From what Google Images showed me, looks like that simple controller is just two wires, a red and a black, I didn't see any signal wire for turning the lights on and off. That should be able to go in the Batt slot on the receiver, or do you have something else there?

+1 to what Trubble said.
Also, you might consider just using a servo Y cable if you don't have a Batt or Bind connector on your receiver. Just plug the Y cable into any channel and connect the item you unplugged as well as your light system's plug into the ends of the Y cable.

Thanks for reminding me. I completely forgot about that. You are correct, no controller just on and off so the Batt/bind slot will work perfectly.

I am also going to look into the Y-cables just for the future.

Thanks

Which transmitter are you planning to use with the 2speed trans?
