Default Lipo help for an idiot

So I have done some searching and am still very confused. I would like to go lipo, but don't know how to go about it. What do I need to change, etc... I run the following set up, but am clueless about how to convert to lipo.

Looks like all you have to do is enable the Lipo cut-off and pick up a 2-cell (2s) Lipo batt. Other then that, its just a matter of how big of a Lipo you want/can fit. My general rule of thumb with Lipo batts is if you can afford the higher C-ratings, get as high as you can. Crawlers don't really pull high discharge currents, but if you decide to use the batts in a power hungry rig, you won't have to buy new batts. That just me opinion though.

Study all you can about Lipo use. Best way to keep from fowling up.

Oh, and don't forget that you'll need a Lipo charger and a charging bag.

The Rooster is limited to 2S only. If you try to go to a 3S or higher battery you will fry the ESC. Like stated above just enable the #2 setup (lipo cutoff activated) and you are GTG. A decent charger with a balancing board will help tons and keep your batteries fresh for a long time if directions are followed correctly as far as charging, discharging, and storing your lipos at the proper voltages to increase battery life.

You can solder on whichever connectors you choose. Unless you find a vendor that sells them with your prefered connector.

www.CheapBatteryPacks.com can supply pretty much whatever you want (pack plugs as well as balance plugs for LiPO).

Ok, so I am looking on there and have selected the Elite 850 7.4v 2S lipo pack. I know what kind of connector I need, but what is the balance connector? I assume that has something to do with the charger? Can someone please recommend a good charger for me. Also, I assume I should order a few batts at the same time...

That seems kinda small!! The higher the MAH the longer the run time. I currently run a 2s 6000 and it last like 2 hrs!!!
Good luck!!!

then the battery you stated should work fine if it has a decent enough c rating.

Rooster ESC is a powerful ESC. I wouldnt go anything lower than 25c continuous. as thats what I have and have no issues. Lasts about 20 min a pack.
