Default Running my Losi ESC on 3S ???

I installed a Losi MSC540BL-S brushless sensored ESC and a Losi 13.5T brushless sensored motor in my Wraith.

Really happy with the results, it's a great combo for the Wraith, good power and very smooth and cogging-free torque down in the revs.

Here's my question though : the ESC's specs say it can handle a maximum voltage input of 8.4V so I'm running it on 2S LiPo's but do you guys think Losi plays it safe and the ESC would be able to handle 11.1V on voltage input ?

Is this voltage limitation related to the ESC's internal BEC and if so would installing an external BEC resolve this limitation ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Seems to be the general consensus so I'll keep it on 2S. Thanks for your reply mate
