Default GT3B with lights anyone.

I added some LEDs on a switch powered by my lipo inside the radio.

Purpose is to make it back to the car safely when we've been out crawlin after dark, or find lost parts while night crawlin. Am I the first to do this or even think about doing it? Let's see what ya'll got.

I have a surefire pocket light and spent way too much not to use it lol. Great idea though would also be handy navigating around while crawling at night, eliminate those slips and falls haha

Not sure I would do it....but.....great mod & thanks for sharing.

What LED's did you use and did you add a reflector??

I have a mini-mag light, thus it covers most of what your mod does. Still a neat idea though.

I have a small flash light, plus a petzl style headlamp, but I thought of this when I was walking back with a crawler buddy, 4 crawlers, backpacks, and trying to hold a flash light, and the headlamp batts were on the fringe, so this frees up hand space and I can point it at my crawler when doing night repairs that require both hands.

I wasn't going to do it either, but decided what the heck, I haven't seen it yet.
I use 18k mcd super brights, no reflectors just bezels, and a switch so they are not on all the time. I'm still going to carry my flash light also. We walk back on some pretty rough rock faces in the dark so this is added safety... mostly for my old foggie friend that I crawl with .

awesome idea. may have to look into it. Tx is always in your hand anyway, why not incorporate a flashlight. bet someone out there is creative enough to program the firmware to control the "headlight". could you possibly do a build thread on this? i would like some more details.

that's exactly what my aha moment was, system integration... I can point the tx anywhere when I'm walking and crawlin, I was hoping this would get Losikids attention as an add on to the firware but I do not feel comfortable soldering to the board other than the header pins for the hack. I'll see if I can do some more pics, but I didn't take many during the process since it was 38* in the garage, and my personal photographer was off for the night, but I'll see what I can do.

anyway, I know this is not a necessary mod, but I had all the parts and it was a fairly quick add on that enhances a pre existing product. now I only have to wait for spring to go night crawlin again.

Great idea! I can see all kinds of in-the-field uses for that.
