Default New ESC + motor for my SCX

Hola

Soon I need new ESC and motor for my SCX-10.
Have been looking both on Navak Eiger and Tekin FXR and can't not decide which one to go for.

Further more I need a new motor – but is it word the money to get a Novak, Tekin or Holmes hobby? I’m running my rig in mud and water etc. so it’s sounds cheaper just to use the RC4WD motors that’s more or less coming for free.

IMO go with the FXR for an ESC in a waterproof box/enclosure and if you dont care about the longevity of the motor either Integy or the RC4WD's as they are both on the cheap. You could look into installing a "filter" on the motor by using a nylon skirt around the can. While it wont keep everything out it will "filter" the mud and get a bit longer life out of your motors.

Thanks

But why the FXR instead of the Eiger?
The FXR looks almost impossible to program WO the hotwire - the Eiger looks easy and suitable for my needs.

Will the FXR not run hot if you put it in a baloon?

Will go for a cheap motor - easier and cheaper to replace

The FXR is completely programmable without the Hotwire, you just have to push some buttons. Get the FXR, you will be happy in the long run. Look up Novak Eiger reviews......not looking too good. The FXR will get a bit warm in a sealed box or balloon if you are running a hot motor on 3s but I've never had one fail. Stick with a 35 turn motor or higher and you will be able to run all day. Good luck.
