Default Need a MOA with dual ESC and BEC wiring diagram

So I've searched for a while and can't find anything that is really clear or makes sense. I'm almost done with my XR10. I just don't understand how to wire into my receiver with dual ESC's, a BEC, and a servo. What goes where? Do any wires get cut?

If it was me, I'd get a Bypass Adapter from CreationFab or Holmes, plug the servo and BEC into the bypass adapter, bypass adapter into the receiver, ESC #1 into the receiver with all wires intact, and ESC #2 into the receiver with the red wire pulled.

BEC feeds the servo
ESC #1 feeds the receiver
ESC #2 just along for the ride

Easy peasy, no?

I remembered there's one wiring diagram in XR10 forum sticky thread posted by Harley, but that diagram was no longer available now. Here's the basic wiring diagram for a dual ESCs with BEC on XR10. Took me 20 minutes to draw it using powerpoint.

Another wiring option was directly plug in your servo into BEC. But had to remember to plug one of the ESCs (only ONE) red wire back on or you don't have power to your receiver.

Thanks!! I'm running 2 CC Sidewinder micros with 2 Holmes Hobbies 35T motors a CC BEC a Futaba 4PL and a Hi-tech servo. Does the second ESC have to go in the 4th channel?

I am running an identical set up pretty much and glad I came across this thread. Wiring up mine this weekend.

2nd esc default is 4th channel if you want to use dual esc mix in 4pl. Of course you can change the setting and use other channel.

What's the unit between the BEC and the servo in the 2nd diagram?
Never mind, I looked again and figured out it is the servo BEC plug

Very nice diagrams, by the way

If you have glitchy steering with diagram two, make a 3 way ground connection between servo, bec, and RX. Only way mine will work.

Of the 2 diagrams posted which is more popular?

I had tried both and I like #2. Reason is the voltage to receiver will not affected by servo load so less glitch issue. Just my 2 cents.

The one in post #3 is the more popular due to just being a snip, snip, plug operation. Even a caveman can do it.

The method in post #4 is more refined, and requires the expenditure of buying a bypass adapter, or if one decides to build instead of buy, the cost of buying supplies and then spending of time doing research and still maybe coming up wrong and risking sending components to the grave if it doesn't work.

When I started out, I had both my Sportsman crawler and my SCX hooked up like in Post #3 (and the SCX still is). I was using AE-1 ESCs, so they weren't programmable, I could afford to nix the red wire. When I stepped up to Micro Sidewinders, those still need the red inserted for hooking up the CastleLink, so I wanted to hook them up so I could have the ESC intact.
On the SCX, since the electronics are in a box, and it's a pain to get to, I used a CastleLink Quick Connect (basically a glorified Y-harness). Now I have the red pulled from the harness (where it plugs into the receiver), and a port for programming that I can leave dangling from the box, no need to dig anything out, and the ESC still has all it's wires in.
On my crawler, I had time on my hands, so I built a bypass adapter (such as in post #4). Got the thing just about all done and took one last look before plugging it in, sure enough it wasn't right. Didn't have to scrap it and start over, but I did need to go back and change some stuff. Works like a charm now. And since the ESC is back to feeding the receiver, all three wires are back in the ESC's plug, which means I can hook up my CastleLink quicker and easier once again.
Both ways work, though, so use whichever method you want.

Did you keep both esc red wires plugged in on your crawler?

Mine's a sportsman (single motor/ESC), so not an issue for mine,

but no, you would need to disconnect at least one of the reds if you're going dual ESC. Otherwise you could run into issues with the internal BECs fighting each other.

I'm powering my servo straight off the BEC (Option 2 in other words) but also have both ESC's red wires connected to the Rx, with no issues whatsoever. I vaguely remember reading something that Futaba receivers don't have an issue with this the same way as others do.

Here is a wiring diagram I created for setups that wire the BEC directly to the Rx

Should both ESCs use a capacitor?

If I only use one, place it farthest from the battery?
