watts up meter
 
thought id share this video i just made..

testing my watts up meter on my Axial Wraith..
tekin 13.5t rated at 201 watts
3s lipo 4500mah 35-70c
mmp esc
w 32p 54t/18t gearing

barely gets above 60watts..."thumbsup"

tested it again...from dead stop to full throttle it went up to 105watts for a split second then back down to @50-70 watts

info on watts up meter..

Works with any electric airplane, helicopter, car or boat model

The only thing of interest to me would be the readings under load.

Put it on the ground "thumbsup"
Let's see what it consumes then, and even better, what is the max rating in a bind situation?

underload video...
watch the watts go up!!

peaked @322 watts..it was leaving black marks on the floor and rubber peelings..

Definitely a difference under load. The other thing is that the Tekin Redline 13.5T motor is probably rated at 201 watts @ 7.4 volts.

Something fun to do with the Watts Up meter is to use it for measuring servo 'Stall' current draw. This information is somehting that servo manufacturers have never really offered and in this hobby is pretty relevant. If you are going to test your servos with the watts up meter for stall current be careful if you use something like a CCBEC for a power supply, you are better off using a power supply or 6 volt battery.

the motor has the 13mm torque rotor as well..
