Default 2s, 3s, 6cell, 9cell ???

I am currently running a novak goat 3s esc and a 18.5T sensored brush less motor and 6cell 3300mah batteries. I was thinking of gearing it down a little for better slow speed crawling. I'm not too familiar with different batteries setups. I was wondering if I can gear it down a little for better crawling, and run higher voltage for good wheel speed. A BEC did come with the ESC - just need to figure out how to install it and why it has a separate on/off switch.

I see that there are many different discharge rates, etc., for the lipo's. I really don't know what any of this means.

Any disadvantage to doing this? What do you guys think?

Thanks
Mike
