Default Wiring 2 motors to 1 esc (splice)

I have an XR10. I have a new FXR esc comming this week. I am trying to get straigh how to wire this up. I know the basic of what goes to what.
My question is on splicing the ESC wires into the motow wires.

Without drawing this out, it's hard to explain. But can I run wires from motor to motor, then run the 2 wires up from the ESC and splice into the complete motor wires?
Basically making a "T" connection.

I did some searching and looked at photos of wiring but I cant really tell THE way to wire up 1 esc to 2 Motors. The actual connection part of it

**forgot to add, no dig unit as of now

You could do that but remember the rear motor to be wired in reverse or timed 180 degrees. What people usually do it run 2 sets of positive and negative leads off the esc, then plug the motor leads into that.

If you wire one motor to the next and then only have 2 wires going to the esc they will be wired in Series. If you do this they will both run slowly. (this is why things like the old emaxx and E-savage ran on 14 volts. You may need to increase your voltage to get the wheel speed that you need. The other option is to wire them in parallel (4 wires to esc) but then there are issues with load sharing and you will suffer some serious "Clod Stall"

So what is the 3rd, best option?

As the car sits now, it seem to be wired in a series, just with some ugly splicing of 3 cut ends per + - to ESC

If you can run your ESC on 4s Lipo it should be no big deal.

The third solution is to get another ESC and a 3 channel radio.

Its going to be on 2s. My Kyosho KT200 is 3 channel but I havent coonfirmed that it will work with a 2 ESC setup.
2nd ESC or dig is in the works with more funds.
For now, I'll copy the previous wiring as it worked. But I didn't have anything to compare it to.

In the days before dig switches or the thought of two ESCs and a multichannel radio we ran wires to either the front or back, then to the other motor. Some said running the wires to the rear motor first helped with stall... as did running a tooth or two smaller pinion in the rear axle.

So it would be from the FXR to the rear motor, then run two lengths of wire up to the front motor.

Then mechanical dig switches came around and we had to wire the front motor first, then two wires to the switch, then to the rear motor. I'd say stall became a bigger issue with more resistance in the path (in the switch). Then using two ESCs started popping up on 6 channel stick radios, then Futaba and their 4 channel pistols.

I think in July 2005 I saw my first 4WS two ESC Clodbuster, and I think it was our admin jason that had it. He could 4WS and go forward in front and reverse in back and make the thing move perfectly sideways.

I preferred running the rear motor first then the front. I would play with motor timing a little too hoping to get rid of more motor stall.

You forgot the evolution with mixers and proportional mix that can control the stall

Ummm...incorrect (if I'm reading your description correctly), that would be parallel. It really does not matter if the ESC wires go to a motor, or to the middle of the wires between motors.

Series would be:

ESC + to motor-1 +, motor-1 - to motor-2 +, motor-2 - to ESC -. This makes a "ring".

Series is not a good thing. How each motor will run is dependent on the other motors condition (brushes & comm.)
Whether series or parallel, you may exceed the capabilities of the battery (voltage, parallel) or ESC (minimum motor wind limit, series).

Oh, yeah... I was still thinking about back in the mid 2000s.
