Default HELP!!! fxr over heating problems

so i hooked up everything and turn on my fxr to change the voltage cutoff to run my 3s lipos and i was using a ni-mh pack and i go to change it and it was really hot... im running 2 servos a 3 racing winch and the motor... do i need a bec?
led 1 3 and 5 are flashing and the fxr manual says
Voltage Cutoffset below battery voltage
or in hi-temperature thermal shutdown

so could it be that i was trying to use to much power?
the 2 servos are connected by a y connector and the actueal steering one is a savox 1/8 scale servo and i have one for a steering wheel mod and its metal geard and i have a 3racing winch hooked up to the reciever is there anything i can do to fix this problem tonight?

Default Re: HELP!!! FX-R over heating problems

General rule of thumb, when you get over ~200inoz of servo torque, you NEED an external BEC.

If your 2 servos are ~100inoz each, you're about there, if they are higher torque, you are definitely there.
Then add in your winch.

To set-up the FX-R, unplug the servos and do your changes.
