| External BEC... What Happened?
Please be nice on the newbie. So I recently purchased a nicely upgraded MRC. It has been running fine until today. When I connected the battery, the Castle Sidewinder esc wouldn't light up. It got REALLY hot to the touch so I quickly disconnected the battery. While troubleshooting things, I noticed that it only fails when the external BEC is connected to the esc. When I connect the ESC and not the BEC, everything seems kosher. Is the BEC fried? Any suggestions? Thank you for any help. |

Is the red (middle) wire connected on esc -> receiver wire? If it is, the internal bec on your esc and the external bec are fighting each other, and even worse if they are set on different voltage. |

You nailed it R_2... thank you! Yeah, I just came across a diagram and saw that. Not sure why it was working for the first week fine, but since I pulled the red esc wire from the plug, it looks like I'm good to go.
