newbie: scx10 upgrading questions ?!?!
 

So ive had my scx10 for a little while and its been threw hell.
Ive had it swimming several times and i never waterproofed it.well now the range on the transmitter is about 10feet. As soon as it gets that far away it slams into reverse until i get closer or it gets closer to me. I tried putting it in rice bag. No luck so i figured i could get another receiver and transmitter or upgrade? In the future i might do the 2 speed and winch. So far the esc,stock motor and servo still move. But what can i do for a budget swamp/mudding crawler? I was thinking just keep buying stock part's and try using marine grease in gear boxes and that ballon trick on electronics
Where can i get metal t case gears? And a complete bearing kit for all bearings?

-3 or 4 channel budget transmitter and receiver? Maybe already waterproof? Or cheap to replace

As far as transmitters go I would get a hacked GT3B and an extra 6 channel receiver from losikid his website is overkillrc.com. And I run a Traxxas xl5 in my scx10 you will lose the drag brake but it is waterproof. I would switch to the 20 turn motor for the mud.
