Hopefully soon. Machinists are just all booked up, so trying to find a source to make it. Afraid at this point I may have to ship it off to China to get them made.

Hey Eddie,
This is my first "NICE" motor Ive used on any of my crawler/scaler setups. I have been through stock axial 27T/20T's and the Titan 12T as well. I was just wondering a few things about this Brood Intensity I have recently installed. I believe it is a 19T, I received it from a member of our crawler group for a solid deal awhile back and have been waiting to install it. I got it in last night and noticed this thing has some serious get up n go to it! Well long story short, I am running stock gearing (80T Spur and 27T Pinion on the SCX-10 Honcho). Is that suitable for this motor? Personally I like the top end speed but know how it can affect a motor/esc with too much load or speed. It still has some pretty good low end torque. Would it be safe to run stock gearing, or should I drop the Pinion down some? Anyone's input would be great, thanks guys!

Run it and check motor temps. If the motor is too hot (can't keep fingers on it more than ~5 seconds) you may be over geared or too tight a pinion/spur mesh or driveline binding.

Thanks for the quick response! I did about 20 minutes worth of crawling and about 3-5 mins worth of speed runs and whatnot today. I would say it warms up around low/mid 100's but nowhere near as warm/hot as the stock motors did! I know anything hot to the touch is not good, and im not having any binding issues either. I will double check on the mesh of the pinion/spur but pretty sure it is set properly. If it gets anywhere near warm or hot, would it be safe to gear down to a lower pinion? Thanks again!

That sounds over geared to me.... 87/18 is pretty common for a 35t....

Im pretty sure this was a 19T on the Intensity motor. Does the same rule still apply for that gearing 87/18? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make it perfect before this upcoming TTC on Nov.10th!

No, lower turn motors require smaller pinions or bigger spurs (or a combo of both). I would start that thing at like a 87/13 or so and monitor temps.

Ended up dropping to a 16T pinion and left the stock 87T spur. The motor did excellent this weekend at the TTC, finished 1st place with my class 2 rig! Motor was barely warm to the touch after both 10 minute courses and the 3 lap KOH race. Thanks again for the advice, loving the new motor.

Hey, I'm looking for some replacement brushes for my Chaos Type T 35 turn. i'm pretty sure it's got standup brushes. What's the difference between the 729 and 4383?

The 4383 was pretty much the ultimate HP brush back in the racing days but they were rougher on the comm. the 729 was very popular in the racing days too, gentler on the comm and still good power.

The 729 is the most common standup in crawler motors. It's what I use for stock standups.

Your chaos is a standup...729 would be my suggestion.
