Radio/Receiver issues?

Was using my rig the other day I noticed that the drag brake wasn't working so well anymore and that i was having an intermiten loss of control or the throttle would pulse under heavy load.

I replaced the batteries on my radio and re programmed my esc (castle link) its a bit better, no more drag brake issues.

Went out to test it last night and the thing still pulses the throttle some times under heavy load and will sometimes now disconnect from my control for a second or until i release the throttle and apply it again.

between the start of the issue and the most recent test session I moved my receiver further forward and very close to my 3s lipo. I also have it under a tin hood, and the pervious owner cut the antenna down to about a couple of inches. Am I having interference issues? is my esc malfunctioning? Going to try putting the receiver in a place where its little antenna will have a clear path to the radios antenna. I have tried starting up the esc with the radio on, radio off, restarting radio while the esc is on etc. Do not think its a mating issue.

thanks!!

Re: Radio/Receiver issues?

First thing that I thought of when I read your thread: check the brushes on your motor.

In my experience a weak drag brake and pulsing forward movement means that my brushes are worn on my motor. Once, I let it go too long and the motor shorted out and melted my ESC down.

Try unplugging your servo and see if the behavior continues. I've seen servos cause all sorts of witchcraft
