How waterproof is hh brxl waterproof esc?
 

After frying my first brxl hh ecs in water, ive gone ouy and bought a waterproof version.

Just wondering how waterproof are they?

will it work fine under water? I love too sink my rig in mud/water and want one less thing to worry about.

I think they use some sort of epoxy on the board.

Well first test today with esc under water and in 2 secs it died. Lost all power & now I dont get any leds on the esc when pluged in. ive tried differemt packs and checked everything else.

Looking at the esc it.looks identical to my standard non waterproof brxl in my other rig??

Pictures on google look like there are bullet connections on the.esc board & you can see the epoxy is this right?

The bag it came in had a yellow sticker with "waterproof" on it, but im thinking there has been a mix up.

try to plug it into a diff reciever.. you may have fried that not the esc i have a wp br/xl and dunk it regularly.. gotta make sure anything on your truck with an electronics board is proofed... or else bad things happen.

Was it purchased new from HH? All of the newer BRXL's that I've seen don't have the female bullet connector on the esc mainboard. Only an older model did.

Not sure, I have atleast 5 and dip them and rip them constantly and they just smile and wave, ya makes sure your other components are waterpoof bud, not normal for one, a new especially to go bad. Id post a few detailed pictures of it if your questioning the waterproofness as well as consult the hobby shop who sold it to you. Are you using a BEC on that rig? What other electronics are you using?

A pic of the ESC would be great. Checking the Rx and other components would also be a good idea "thumbsup"

I'd be a little concerned that he doesn't have any LED activity. I'm going to test when I get home, but I think you're supposed to get some lit LEDs even without a RX connected.

No reciever should get red and green flashing led's. Just tested mine

Its the esc guys no lights and no power to rx. Tested rest of the system with another cheep speedy I had layin about. Servo, rx & bec all check out.

The seller has been great. Ive sent it back express and should have a new "waterproof" esc soon :)

Also apparently the new water proof brxls dont have the bullet connections on the board. I thought that was a good idea. Anyway I couldnt see any epoxy over the leds either
