Default battery/charger advice

Maybe i should put this in the newb section because i really dont want to get flamed. but i believe in putting things where they belong.

i just recently finished building my first RC Crawler. Axial SCX10. i have a HH 35T TorqueMaster Sport motor with a TorqueMaster BRXL ESC. I have a futaba 4pl radio.

I have searched and read but i just cannot figure out what to go with as far as a battery and charger. All things batteries confuse me. I understand the differences between NiCd and LiPo to an extent. i understand great caution needs to be used with LiPos. but that's about it. Any useful advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hobbyking.com

Their lipos are cheap and work great. Look for a 2 or 3 cell lipo depending on what ESC you run. Keep in mind the less mAh you run, the more C rating you need. C x mA = amps you can safely draw. example: 2000mah battery with a 20-30C rating. 20 x 2 (20 is the C rating 2 is the amp hours or mah drop three decimal places so 2000 becomes 2 amp hours) = 40 amps and 30 x 2 = 60 amps. This means that a 20-30C 2000mah battery can supply 40 amps continuously and up to 60 amps burst (if you are bound up and draw a lot of current). The more amps you can draw the better.

As far as a charger, I like the imax B6. They are available on hobbyking as well. Ships from the US and is about $45. Great quality charger for lipos. Cheap and effective.

IMAX B6-AC Charger/Discharger 1-6 Cells (GENUINE) (US Warehouse)

PM me if I can help you further
