| Testing CCbec
Just wondering if anyone tested a CC bec (10a) I figured I would hook up to a battery and check the red and black wires coming out for the proper voltage . I believe mine is bad . Had it on Tekin FXR/55tpro combo with a 645mg hitech servo and 6 led lights in scx10 on 3s (fully charged) and found when I was climbed rocks for around 3 min the lights would blink go out , servo went a little and lost throttle control - all symptoms that they say you need a bec . Removed the BEC switched to a 2s all else the same ( except also used winch ) and runs perect for almost an hour in the same rockpile . |

Did u cut the red wire on the esc u might be over loading the esc with voltage if all else fails try wiring it up this way

Wire was pulled out and taped . Will try that wiring to the servo only

I will Hijack this tread with my problem, which is similar. I run a CCBEC with a 2S battery, and want to know what is the maximum voltage a CCBEC can output on a 7.4V input (low batt) Around 6.8-6.9V seems to be my max before glitching and loosing the receiver for a second. This is when I demand a big load on the servo AND using the main motor. I think the amp draw lower the voltage of the battery just enough for the BEC to shutdown. I understand that the BEC can only step-down the batt voltage. And most step-down regulator need a 0.5V of difference between input and output... I am correct? I will test with a bank of capacitor (Home-made) on the receiver end (after the BEC) or at the batt output to smooth the voltage of the system. Any ideas for my problem? |

I did lower the BEC voltage to 6.5V, seems fine with a fresh battery (8.4) Will have to test more extensively with a low battery to make sure everything is OK... A little too cold here to start the outdoor crawling at the moment.. |

It's just that below freezing, it's not fun for the fingers, and the tires got hard, so no fun at rock crawling outside. We still roll indoors from time to time in the winters.. |
