| pro4 vs sc4x vs ???
Im in the process of building somthing........im not shure what to call it, its a ax10 based MOA (ill iclude specs and parts at the end). My plan was a MOA rock racer with uncontrolable speed (when i want it) that can still crawl like MOA should. At first i planned to use a holmes hobbies cobalt puller but those seem to be discontinued as it would no be much more expensive than brushed. I dont what to use im split between a sc4x 7.5t and a pro4 3300kv I would love hear some feed back on some other motors (trinity, novak ect). I plan to use a mamba max pro. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Tekin-Pr...item4d0a02e39d http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Tekin-Pr...item4d0a02e39d After checking out prices i would have to buy used if i got the pro4 so now im leaning toward the sc4x............whatever im not really getting anywhere with this just let me know what ya think, oh and these are the specs. -hotracing MOA for the AX10 -CKRC AX-10 Rockstar Chassis(i planned to put a gmade r1 chassis on it) -stock ax10 wheels with comp claws -bent links Thanks in advance, cooper |

I have the pro4 3300 in an scx10 and let me tell ya, there is more than enough power potential there. I usually run 1.9 tires but also have run 2.2's, and it doesn't matter, wheel speed on demand! I'm geared 81/19. Mamba max pro as well. You won't be disappointed. And I run 3 cell 2200mah batteries. Hope this helps.

Pro4 is proven in both crawling and outrageous speed. It is used by many members on this forum. I do however know of one member that runs the sc4x 4.5 and he says it has better to low end then the pro4 but I doubt it because it`s a 2 pole motor. I will have to look him up and post his username or he might even stop by and post. I personally have a pro4 4000kv because it was going for a great price but I need to get my hands on a 3300kv because the 4000kv is just unnecessarily crazy for a scale rig.

Problem is that to get serious, a 4 pole is usually in order. They are out there for 60-80$, but from what I could find for that price, they were lacking sensor based operation. Very much needed for good crawl ability. I've had tekin redline motors before too, but were very much lacking in torque production.

I have the new Tekin ROC 412 3100KV, I have it in my Wraith. Stock slipper is set at 1/2 turn from full locked. Geared 60/11t, it has no problem getting the slipper slippin'.

I have no experiance with the other brands, but I have crawled with friends that have Novak systems and they really don't compare. Guy couldn't believe how much stupid torque and tire speed. He really liked his until he saw me and my other friends crawler. Butter smooth start up as well. Not trying to sound like salesman, but man save your pennies and get the pro4.

I got a tekin roc in my scx 3100 on 2s and it sheared a axle pin in the hex I had 3 pin parts my roommate has one on 3s in his wraith and that's insane fast at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Said roommate also had some other brushless sensor motor and that is like a duck with one wing trying to fly next to that tekin roc

I have a pro4 3300 that was originally in my wraith. It's now in my Twin Hammers. I replaced the Pro4 in the Wraith with a TenShock SC411 3500. It's a 550 sensored 4 pole and stomps the pro 4. It also cost $85. Don't get me wrong, I love the pro4, I just think the Tenshock offers a better value. |
