Default Do I need capacitors?

I'm confused by the whole capacitor issue. I've read yes, no, maybe, doesn't hurt and so on. So some clarity would be very helpful. I've been playing with nitro rc for quite a while but new to the electrics.

I will be using a HH BR-XL running a 20T Crawlmaster powered by a 3s Lipo controlled by a Spektrum DX4S transmitter and 4 channel DSMR receiver in my Wraith for crawling.

Do I need a capacitor(s)? If so, where? On the motor? Before the ESC? Both? Any info would be great.

Thanks,

The HH br-xl will have a cap built in. Most ESC have a cap. So no you don't need one, but you will have one.

If you're talking "motor caps", they are really needed for AM & FM radios, the 2.4ghz radios are not really affected by motor noise but it won't hurt anything either.

Not at all, the cap packs are for situations that have ripple voltage problems, like big helis or ebikes. Regular r/c cars have enough caps built into the ESC.
