Default Cc bec

I have an AX 10 scorpion in stock form it performed very well. I wanted to do some upgrades so I put a 35t motor and a little higher torque servo and liked the results, then I wanted a little more speed so I went with an Axial 27t motor. I have been reading threads on here that if I go with more torque on the servo I might encounter glitches on the steering. I bought a CC BEC and programmed it to 6.0v out like I've read and seen in video's. My problem is not with the servo but when I come up to an obstacle and try to slowly power up it it cuts out and jumps around. I realize the 27t motor is not for crawling but I wasn't trying to climb anything very tough. I run a 7.4v 5000mha NiMH battery and it is new, are the batteries good enough to run this setup correctly or do I need to run a LIPO with the BEC.
Thanks for the info upfront

Did you pull the red wire out of your speed controls plug?

Yes I did I forgot to mention that thanks. Does the bec need to be plugged into the Bat slot or the cha3 slot or does it make a difference.

It doesn't matter which slot. Sounds to me like your gearing and motor are all at fault for the glitch assuming your electronics are up to par

I am running a little bigger than stock drive gear off the motor, it was on the 35t when I got it I'll try and go back to the stock gear and see what happens. Thanks for the quick replies I appreciate it.

The gearing that I was running was a 14 pinion and the stock 87 spur, I took the 14 pinion off and put the 12 back on and it seems to work now but why would it not work with the 14t on it?

Does any one else have any info as to why I couldn't run the 14t with the 87 spur?

What pack to ESC connector are you running? If a Tamiya, you may be overloading it.

In general, a 7.4 volt NiCD/NiMH may hit the ESC LVC if it's still on during peak loads.
Does the whole rig die (RX is shutting down) of just the ESC (hitting LVC)?

For the weight & cost, LiPO is really the way to go today.

I run NiMH in 12th & 10th pan cars with no issues, but those ESC's don't have LVC's. The chassis is set-up for the weight as well.

Your taller gearing may be hitting the ESC LVC (voltage drop under load).....turn it off if you can & then test again.

Yes I am still running the stock connectors from the esc to the battery, I will have to go to the lhs and see if they have the other connectors. I was hoping not to have to change them because that would mean I have to change them on the grandaughters also. Thanks for the tips I appreciate it. no the power stays on its just the crawler hops like mad when trying to climb up on something like its cutting out.

What would be a good size Lipo to go with I don't know a thing about them lol. I do a lot of crawling but still want to bash a round and trail ride, I would like to keep the pack small but still have enough juice to go on for a while. Are they like the NiMH when it comes to mha as far as how long they will hold a charge?
Thanks

Yes, the mah designates the capacity of any pack regardless of chemistry.
