Unhappy Jumpy jolty jerky

Hi this is my first post here be gentle.
I'm new to rc and I have just made up the scx10 dingo. I have been having problems with it at low speeds if I press the throttle very slightly and I mean slight the truck jumps of at full speed for a split second then stops if I reapply throttle it will do as its intended or it will do the same jolting action. It seems intermittent but I can garuntee it will do every other 3rd attempt. It never does it in reverse always forward motion. And it does also with the steering but only to the left it twitches and ends up facing the other direction or just twitches, never does it when turning right.

My electronics setup.
Absima cr4t combo trans and receiver
Axial ae2 ESC
Axial 27t motor
Hd power servo
Team Orion 4500 mah nimh 7.2v

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Check the ESC it may be set up for lipo and not Minh. Also make sure your battery is fully charged.

What battery connectors are you using? If Tamiya, you may be losing voltage there.

As to steering issue, can you set steering EPA's? (end point adjustment). You may be overdriving the steering servo causing a brownout.

Have you calibrated the ESC to the RX?

Yes tamiya connections from battery to esc.
As for the steering it does it when I give it the smallest amount of right turn so would that rule out the end point?
How exactly do you programme a esc to the rx?

Thanks.

At a minimum, use Deans connectors, or something other than Tamiya. Try to run the rig, see if the connector gets warm/hot, if so, that is a major issue.

If you're only moving the steering a little bit, then no, EPA's are not an issue. Make sure there is no binding in the steering and that the servo arm is not contacting the servo body. Any overload (due to binding or tight fits) can make any servo draw a lot of power.
