Default Spek DX3R Glitchiness contd.

This is in addition to my earlier thread regarding some DX3R weirdness. I finally had a chance to sit down to do more thorough testing.

i set a car up on the bench, with a fresh battery. Turned on the DX3R, turned on the car and saw that there was immediate jittering from both the motor and the steering. If I just touched the throttle, it sent the motor to full power. If I touched the steering wheel, the steering would go to full lock one way or the other. I duplicated the same test with 5 cars, using both DSM and DSM2 receivers.

I did a fresh bind in each case and found the same results.

I next used my DX4S to see if the results could be duplicated, but in each case, the radio/vehicle worked perfectly.

Looks like this is going on the shelf or possibly the scrap pile. It'd cost too much to ship to Horizon for repair.

Have you done the update to the DX4S? Mine doesn't work after it. Worked great before the update? I'm sorry to hijack your thread, but i'm seeking answers.

Yup. Works fine. I've heard erroneous digits in the serial number can screw it up for some, however.

If it is the radio I would send it back to Horizon, there customer service is excellent.I just sent back my DX3R and they did a complete overhaul for FREE!They fixed the jittery scroll wheel, recalibrated the radio and even put a new foam on the steering wheel.Four day turn around, pretty awesome.

^^ agree I did the same. I even had a custom wheel on mine and they put it back on and sent a new foam wheel back with it just in case I wanted it.
