|  axial tx antenna wire came off board.
I have axial Ax-3 tx and was running it one day and the range was terrible. Everything on the outside appeared ok. I pulled it apart and sure enough the antenna wire had come out of its soldering hole. I am no master electrician but I know my way around a solder gun. Heated the solder real quick, reattached wire and presto it was fixed. Until I tried to use it again atleast. Did help range slightly but still only good for 20 feet. There are 2 identical spots on the board for the antenna. 1 on the outside and 1 on the inside right next to it with a small pin hole in it. I attached wire to outside location. Wire was not broke off and I did not put any more solder on . Any ideas or tips would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance. Last edited by Crawlerjedi; 04-23-2013 at 02:46 PM. |

Is it a coaxial antenna? (2wires, one inside the other) if so, its a tougher task making the repair. EDIT: You meant AX-1 radio, right? Last edited by monkeyracing; 04-23-2013 at 11:52 AM. |

sorry i meant Ax3 2.4 ghz radio transmitter. Watched the video. It really only covered receivers and did not really help much. Need to know if there is a special way to solder the antenna wire back to the board. I do believe it is a coax cable.
