Default smokin motors

Ive just smoked a new motor and blew a winding, the other thing is my brxl is actin up. One direction it is stutterin. Ive had a lot of bad luck in the past couple weeks. Any ideas?

The gearing was at 87:16 on this one and the other motor that crapped out I got in trade supposivly a 13t crawlmaster that just quit. was doin the stutter from the brxl.

Swapped to the fxr and was runnin fine till PUFF

Help Please

What kinda truck was it? The gearing may of been a bit steep on some trucks. A 13t crawlmaster is gonna be like a 25t in power, so it needs to be geared accordingly.

The whole gear down volt up thing doesn't solve problems....in fact it will often worsen them until they are figured out.

In this situation, I've found it easiest to install a new motor with the pinion not touching the spur and disconnect the driveshafts... then just slowly rotate all your junk while being very observant to binding issues. Go down the signal chain of movement/power and rebuild/repair as needed.

I started w 80/16 on the holmes motor and its was jolting in reverse then just died, wasn't hot. Changed over to this motor and went to 86/16 w the brxl and was still jolting, so swapped to the fxr and that fixed one prob but I think I over rev this motor and threw the winding.

This still doesn't explain the brxl prob. hooked up the castle link and tried resetting it but it persisted.

There seems to be no binding, all rrp internals, the drivelines will spin freely if spun by hand for some time.
