Default Quick LiPo Storage Question

I'm currently storing my battery inside a fire safe bag, inside a fully sealed ammo box.

I know this may be overkill, but what I don't know is if keeping one of these batteries stored in (what seems to me at least) an air tight container is okay.

This is my first lipo and I have indeed read up on a lot of the safety precautions one must take with these. Obviously that's where I found out that they have to be treated with love and respect

Thanks!

You're doing well. I do the same, except I vented my ammo can. I heard pressure could build if one does happen to pop. Not sure if an ammo can is airtight anyway. The only other thing would be to store somewhere between 3.6v and 3.8v per cell, or something close anyhow.

I have an extra woodstove in the basement that I kept after upgrading to a new one (one of those cant throw it away future project kinda things), but it sets in the corner of the basement and doesn't take up much space but it makes for an awesome & safe place to store every RC battery I own

I used to keep them in a small 12"x12" fire safe meant for valuables and paperwork etc... My thought with that was if it was meant to keep fire out... It should do a fair job keeping fire in if the situation arose.

Your Lipo bag & ammo can sound perfectly OK just so long as you don't keep it atop something flammable.

I'll probably throw it on the charger on Saturday (or tomorrow if I'm home) and give it a storage charge. I can't run it yet as the scx10 comes with a Tamiya connector and the battery came with bullet. I'm looking to convert to Deans...but I need to round up the ends and such first.

Thanks all!
