| thinking about going brushless
Im really thinking that i want to go brushless. I have a wrekluse with wraith axles and its a heavy pig. Im thinking about going with the tekin rs pro 17.5 combo. I like that i could swap back to brushed if i wanted to. Can i get some opinions or thought on this upgrade. I no nothing about brushless setups. Help me please...lol Thanks |

Anyone else have anything to say about the rs pro? Or if this is a good combo. Is there a different motor i should be looking at. Thanks |

Just a basher here and "new again" to electric after large scale gas RC took over the last few years. Running a RS Pro with a 13.5 Tekin combo on 2S. When I want to play around nice a slow its silky-smooth and speed was very good for mucking around all with stock gearing. I expected the 13.5 to shred the stock plastic internals of the Axial tranny but it has held up good enough. The guys at the LHS suggested turning down a couple of the initial RSPro throttle settings to help save things and I have to think that made a difference. With the Tekin programmer it really is a user-friendly setup and seemed to have a ton of adjustability. I will say the Gas RC stuff ruined me and always leaves me wanting more speed...so I am swapping the tekin 13.5 for a Pro4 and sticking with the RSPro on 2S while redoing the tranny for a bulletproof version SuperShafty Style. Not sure how much it helped...but there you go from a new again to electric point of view. Last edited by FlogginHarvey; 04-27-2013 at 01:34 PM. |
