| Motor choice ?s
Okay, so I had been pretty happy with my 35t HH sport motor on 2s for quite awhile. But lately I'm wanting some more wheel speed. I picked up some 3s batteries and that helped tremendously but I still got the itch. I primarily want something that will crawl good, be efficient, but has enough speed to actually get all 4 wheels off the ground if I want. I'm geared at 16/87 which seemed about right for crawling and keeping the heat down. I am not going to go brushless on this rig so I am thinking about a 30t HH or Brood. I am a little lost on the choices though. What are the best options for a honcho based scaler? Torque master pro, apocalypse or some other brood? Got to have lots of low end control too since that is where it really counts on the trail. Sent from the can using Tapatalk |

I run H&H 27-turns in a SCX on 1.9's, probably try a stump humper from brood next. |

Going soley on the Kv ratings, it looks like at 16T Crawlmaster and 30T Torquemaster should be in the same ballpark. What are the pros and cons between the two motor types?

I think at this point I'm between a Brood specter 30t and HH Torquemaster Pro 30t. I'm sure either one is a great power plant. Sent from the can using Tapatalk |

I like the HH motors. But I have never had a Brood of any type. I don't think 5 less turns is going to be a big difference. CrawlMaster Pro 540 in a 13t or 16t would be more of what you are looking for. Just be ready to break some parts.

I have had all of the above motors minus the titan and I am now switching all mine over to 27t brood motors and I have one brood 25t machine wound that is in my waterproof truck mainly cause of the price. From my experience with them the brood 27t is just as good at low end control and has plenty of wheel speed for. I can't tell a difference between it and the crawlmaster 13t except the 27t seems to have a little more top end speed. My 25t does really well also you can tell it doesn't crawl as good if you pay close attention but I really like it also and for the price I can wear it out then get a handwound 27t arm for it and be as good as the rest. Just my 2Cents.

| Re: Motor choice ?s The 16t Crawlmaster is listed at 1850Kv and the 27t Torquemaster is at 2100kv and the 35t is 1565Kv. Based on that I'm guessing that the 30t Torquemaster is in the same ballpark as the 16t CM. So I went with that.

I'm running the 27t trailmaster pro on 3s and love it. Gearing is 18/80 I think. It's really smooth with enough wheel speed to get stupid.
