Default brxl and expert motor

ok so have a brxl and an expert motor, im running on a 3s sky lipo 30c, after a 5-6 min run of light crawling it shuts down, like its going into cutoff, but the batt comes off at over 12 volts still...
and the motor at the terminals is smoking hot, like cant touch em .....
so is the motor not good on 3s?
or is there another issue i should be looking at,

other then that i love this setup so much but would sure love to figure out whats going on here.....thanks

Sounds like something is binding or the esc isn't liking 3s. Is the lipo cut off set to 2s, 3s or auto?

i have cutoff set at 9.3......it hasnt got close to that yet......as for binding.......everything seems to be free.......all the shocks cycle freely, the driveline is unbound, as far as i can see and feel, im running a castle bec set at 7 volts with a 5995 hitec,
i really think maybe the motor is the problem, the esc is completely cool after the run, but the motor posts are very very hot......maybe it could be a bad solder joint, or bad terminals?

Hmm... If the can gets hot too, i'd lean towards binding somewhere. If it's just the terminals, could be the solder joint. Definitely interesting.

Ah missing brush spring could cause issues. Holmes has them on his site or your lhs may still have some.

Try plug it in and update the firmware.

I leave my lipo cut off on auto and just listen when I plug in batteries to make sure it counts the right number of cells. I switch back and forth between 2s and 3s and my "get home" battery is 2s.

Glad you got it figured out. Don't you love the "DOH" moments.
