FlySky GT3C Still have problems?
 

I was in need of another cheap radio and was just going to get another gt3b as I thought they worked very well. Id gladly spend 10 more bux for the newer one with a lipo pack,but I see they had a lot of problems with the on off button or something? Can anyone comment on this,has it been hit or miss or pretty much all of them had problems? I guess for the most part what I seen its a easy fix,but it just doesnt seem right buying something brand new knowing your going to have to fix it before you even use it,lol
On the other hand its cheap and extra rx's are Really cheap :) Im torn

I opted for the C mainly for the weight and size. Unless you go with a B and smallish lipos, the C is worth it... power switch probs included. I did the fix on the C, its not bad compared to other areas of the hobby that require mods out of the box.

what's the problem with the C's button? i've been running an un-hacked one for a few months without any issues. i got a C version over the B mainly because it comes with LiPo and I wouldn't have to mod it.

The power button is in the middle of the steering wheel. This means that it rotates back and forth as you steer. After a while, the power wires leading to the switch fatigue and become intermittent.

You can take apart the steering wheel and the pod that it mounts to and either mount a toggle switch in the pod part or somewhere else on the transmitter, or you can re-use the original switch with some clever use of hot glue or something.

I had problems with the standard on/off switch in the first few hours, bit disappointing from a new radio but I just dremeld a hole in the back of the steering wheel pod and fitted a basic slide switch in.

Same here, I used a power switch from an fxr behind the wheel assembly. There really should've been some type of wire relief on the back of the stock switch. Some have had problems and some haven't, and apparently there was an update. Either way from a price point and functionality standpoint, it's a minor issue. A momentary winch switch is the shizz "thumbsup"
