| Hitec 7950TH scx10 upgrade.
Looking at upgrading my steering servo in my scx10. Looking at the Hitec 7950TH. How many of you guys run these and are they reliable. Ive burnt out lots of cheap servo''s I admit Im hard on them on the rocks but my rigs not that heave and sick of changing them. Id like to buy something decent and not think of it again. Also how waterproof are these servo's or do they need waterproofing |

We run a couple of 7950's in our 2.2 comp rigs using an external CC 10A BEC, they do well. I would suggest a GHRacing aluminum clamping servo arm as well. Due to the amp draw, I would NOT run it off the internal ESC BEC, get an external BEC. Normal rule is, "Over ~200inoz torque, get an external BEC." I think we had one issue, the rest have been fine through quite a few comps, many practice days, etc. I would recommend this servo. I can't tell you about waterproofing though. |

I run the 7950 in both my comp rigs and also in my scx10 scaler with predator tracks (wanted the extra horsepower to move the tracks). in all cases i'm using an external bec. I have 3 seasons on the comp rigs and a little time on the scx10. not a single issue. if you want power this is one of the best servos you can get. as far as waterproofing I think there are a lot of threads on the forum talking about this. a little searching and i'm sure you find some info. |

DO IT! You won't regret it. I run all hitec in my rigs with a cc bec. The 7950 is a power plant for ur steering in any rig! Been running mine for a year, all bought used an still kicking, 6 in rigs an a couple sitting on the side.. class 2, class 3, 1.9, 2.2p, 2.2s, etc.

me too as hitec user. but. i feel 7950 would be overkill on 1.9 rig. i used 7955 and of course cc bec too. i have a 7954 on wraith and 7950 on both 2.2 comp rig.

My 1.9 rig sits at around 7lbs.. I had a 7955 for a while and it seemed to constantly fall short of my needs. I upgraded to a 7950 and will never stray. BEC set at 7 volts. Super happy. For water 'preventative', I fit a balloon over the back side of mine. I can post a pic later. That, and I have the rig configured for CMS. This keeps the servo high and away from most water situations. -B |
