Default Newly purchased axial ridgecrest out of control after 20 feet...

Just started the other day, If I'm within about 15-20 feet, line of site, I dont have any issues with this radio system at all. Outside of 15-20 feet and if it goes behind a rock or car, it starts glitching, turning any direction it wants to, full throttle, reverse, you make it - any combination of the above. Does not matter if I release all controls, it still does whatever it wants.

One other thing I noticed, I bumped the off switch on the transmitter last week and it took off. Daughter turned the transmitter off first today and I almost lost it to the canyon below. I know you arent suppose to turn off the transmitter first but none of my 13 other cars give me any "out of control" issues if I happen to forget. Just this newly purchased Ridgecrest.

Please assist prior to me contacting Axial
Thanks

Stock radio on my daughters wraith worked great for 10-20 minutes then nothing but issues. Into the trash it went. Along with the stock servo that burned up about 4 minutes in and the stock motor which made it almost 10 feet before it died. Pretty good Christmas day at my house when my 7 year olds main Christmas gift had to be repaired 3 times in the first battery pack while driving on our driveway. Now she has the Traxas radio from my slash 4x4, hitec servo, and Brood motor. The stock esc has kept working, but I attribute that to Castle.

Never turn the radio off before the truck. Especially the Axial ones...

Thanks Micro, that a dead horse. But you cant help it when your daughter has brain farts.

MJC - yes, all the electronics are stock and only a month old. The only time I have experienced this is when I ripped half the antenna wire off a Traxxas receiver.

I sure hope this isnt a taste of things to come with my axial electronics!

WOW! I simple phone call to customer support and they are going to send me a new receiver....I SURE HOPE thats the problem!!! I would hate to spend weeks waiting for new parts to arrive only to "troubleshoot". Thats the way some guys repair real cars - lets replace this....nope, that wasnt it! Now lets replace that.....oops - oh well, I'm not paying for it! LOL

It can only be one of 2 things, so I got that going for me - HAHAHA

Thanks Axial!

So a friend of mine is having the same problem with his Ridgecrest and he has only had it for about 3 weeks. I added the castle creations BEC,Savox 1231SG servo, a Traxxas 5800mah battery with deans plug. So I am hoping it is the receiver. I took out a friends receiver, Axial Wraith servo, and installed it into the one I was working on and the issue went away. So I will contact Axial tomorrow and see what they say. Thanx for letting us know that you have yours fixed OP.
