| Torquemaster expert 13t vs crawlmaster pro 13 vs torquemaster pro 27t
Im looking into all three of these motors for a MOA rockracer basher build. IN the decription for the procrawl it states that a 13t or an llt is good for a rockracer, does this apply to the torquemaster motors aswell? the torqemaster pro isnt available in anything under a 27t but torque master expert is available in a 13t. I know the wraith comes with a 27t but its a bit slow, i like the idea of a 13t. what would be the best choice for me, id like most speed while still maintaining the ability to crawl? thanks in advance |

Sounds like you want the crawlmaster. The CM is a 5 pole armature that allows for better low speed resolution, therefor letting you go with a lower turn. If you want mostly speed, try the 11t.

My SCX10 runs a 13T pinion/93T spur with U/D gears in both axles. With a 20T CM Pro on 3s, it's a decently quick crawler. With Wraith gearing, a 13T CM Pro would be a decent rock racer, I do believe.

The CrawlMaster 13T(2250Kv) will be approximately the same speed as the Torque Master Pro 27T(2100Kv). If you want smooth low end control for crawling, I would go with the CrawlMaster. If you are mostly trail running then the TorqueMaster Pro. If you want to go fast then brushless like the Tekin Roc412 3100 or Tekin Pro4 is the way to go.

MOA and rock racer basher tend to not work so well together. If you want speed, you need to build up everything else to tolerate the extra loads. Just a FYI.

what about pro custom motor, i could get it with a 5 slot with a 7.5mm comm and in 11t like the pro crawl and it would still be $5 cheaper. Anything wrong with that? Im cheap!!!!!!!! if i got the pro custom i could get in a 10t aswell but is that too fast? |

| Re: Torquemaster expert 13t vs crawlmaster pro 13 vs torquemaster pro 27t With the 5 slot I wouldn't go less than 11t and prefer the 13t myself. You lose crawling control as you get less than 13t. This is from my experience on my crawlers but the 13t I could start with a real slow crawl and ease into more speed if needed but with the 11t it seemed to kinda jump and couldn't make it crawl as slow. It was like the motor had to reach a certain point before it wanted to go. This was all on the same rig which I now run a 27t 3 slot handwound in the crawlmaster can and it does great. I like to save a dollar too and the replacement arms are cheaper in 3 slot.
