Debris inside the motor? What maintenance have you done on it lately?

Did it start getting hot after you cleaned it, or before? How did you clean it?

Got hot after I cleaned it. Took off end and the thing that spins out took a toothbrush to get all foreign material out of can oiled all bearings and put back together.

Then it sounds like you need to take it apart again and make sure you put it all back together properly. Pictures of the setup would be helpful.

On most motors, zero is between the mounting holes on the bottom, so you can eyeball it to line the endbell screw to be dead center between the holes.

4 months old and heat issues. Sounds like a great excuse to pick up a new motor.
